happy birthday

Hello. A super quick and easy card to share today. The cute pup is from 'happy days' a T for transparent set by Penny Black. I coloured with my ZIG pens - I'm amazed these haven't started to run out of ink! The sentiment is from 'birthday wishes' by My Favourite Things.

A little bit crochet

Hello. I'm pretty pleased with myself! I've been wanting to learn crochet for ages and look what I've made! Baskets made from T-Shirt yarn. I now have baskets to hold my yarn, scissors, pens, you name it! The grey one above has handles built in and the pink one below has ribbon threaded through near the top. And, of course, they both have a big button!!

I'll be back with a card tomorrow, see you then!

a lake full of fish

Hello. Or, in these parts, a loch full of fish! This guy comes from a Stampin' Up set called 'bear hugs'. The set was sent to me a couple of years ago for a magazine commission. I made the cards for the mag' and then kind of forgot about the stamps. But the other day they popped into my head and I had to find them. And find them I did, and here is the result!

I am entering the challenge at Allsorts - birthday boy.

PS, I have a new obsession - crochet! Will share more later in the week!

wish big

Hello. A cat wearing sunglasses on a skateboard! Doesn't he look cool?
He's from a Penny Black set called 'happy times'.
The sentiment is from 'brushstroke birthday' by My Favourite Things.

life is unfair

Hello. Another couple of Stamping Bella stamps dropped through the letter box the other week. This one is 'grumpy squidgy'. I did some doodling, it's been a long time since I doodled on my cards, but this little one looks like she could just have a good old scribble everywhere!

I am entering the challenge at Allsorts - use at least two dies.

June Sweet Treat Box from paper, pen and plan (summer road trip one)

Hello. I'm here to share what's in my monthly Sweet Treat box from Paper, Pen and Plan. The theme of the June box is 'summer road trip'. If you want to see the contents of the entire June box I did a quick unboxing video which you can see here
As well as everything in the box subscribers get access to printables.
You will get a secret code in your box!

This month's box included a handmade notebook. I 'junked' it up a little using some paint and ink. The 'let's go' and 'arrow' stencil and the stamp set are from the box too.
The little notebook fits perfectly into my gorgeous felt A6 Travelers Notebook Cover. These are available here from my friend Jaine's Etsy store.

My little travelling watercolour set fits perfectly into the pocket on the cover!

And here it is all packed up and good to go!

I have huge plans for the rest of the box. Some of the stickers and paper will be used to document my recent holiday in my Simple Stories album and the rest of the stickers and the creative kit will be finding their way into my new Prima Jet Setter!

So, if you want to know more about how the boxes work, order a one off box or subscribe to a monthly box simply click here. There's also a friendly Facebook group here.

The girls at Paper, Pen and Plan also sell loads of cute planner bits and bobs over in the Etsy store here.  They have also started to stock some gorgeous Simple Stories goodies.

wish upon a star

Hello. In card world there is a heart shaped constellation! The stamps are 'upon a star' by Lawn Fawn. I coloured the background and the little creatures using my ZIG real brush pens. The stars were stamped using a white ink pad but I did go over them with my white Signo pen.

I am entering the Creative Inspirations challenge - your favourite things (my ZIG pens).

Have you ever tried......

Hello. Have you ever tried to make your own stamps? Yes? Well please, please let me know the secret. No? Well, let me tell you, it's not as easy as I imagined in my head. It's all the fault of this lovely book I picked up in Paperchase.

And, of course, you buy the bits and bobs that you need. Which very cleverly the shop have on display beside the book. I didn't know which would be best - the Lino or the Soft Cut (now there's a name that should be reported to trading standards, nothing soft about it!) so I bought both.

Mmmmm, what do you think? I'm not impressed! And, this took me a whole afternoon.
And, I'm very lucky not to have ended up in A&E!!

Now, a rubber is listed in the book as something you need. I thought it was just to rub out any mistakes you might make while tracing your chosen image. Noooo, that's not what the rubber is for.
It took a while for the penny to drop - you carve the rubber!
Much easier, but still not entirely successful.
So, here is the end result. Lines cut to make a background and a little flower carved from the rubber.
I guess it's one of those things that takes practice. Anyone want to buy ten Lino Cutters, Lino, Soft Cut and a bag of cheap rubbers? Go on, you know you want to!!

I am not entering my card into any challenges - making it was challenge enough!
